Let the Good Times Roll is a facial cleanser from LUSH that used to be a winter seasonal release, but has recently been brought into the permanent lineup due to customer love and demand. I walked into LUSH a few weeks back looking for a new Fresh Face Mask to try and decided to ask the sales associate about their cleansers, as I hadn’t yet tried one from the brand. The associate asked me about my skin and brought me over to a stool and a bowl of water to demonstrate this Let the Good Times Roll on the back of my hand. He mixed a pinch of the grainy yellow paste with water gently massaged onto my skin and washed it off.
The paste is made of just a few simple ingredients: maize flour, glycerin, talc, water, corn oil, corn meal, cinnamon powder, fragrance, gardenia extract and popcorn. Something that was clear from the sales associate’s demonstration was that this was a nicely balanced cleanser that leaves skin feeling really soft but residue-free. The corn meal is a gentle but effective exfoliator that’s fine to use daily, and the glycerin and corn oil ensure that skin is appropriately moisturized.
LUSH advertises this as a cleanser appropriate for all skin types, and I agree. I started using this twice daily, but have recently switched to just using it as my nighttime cleanser. I have a really gentle cleansing milk that I’ve brought back into my morning routine because I just don’t feel like I need the exfoliation twice a day, and I like being able to use the cleansing milk over my eyes.
The kicker for Let the Good Times Roll, if you haven’t already heard, is the fragrance. It smells like cookies. Cookies! Sadly, the smell seems to disappear from my face after I use a toner, but my hands will definitely continue to smell like the cleanser after I complete my skincare routine. This seems to be a universally loved aspect of the product, and LUSH is really good at this kind of thing, aren’t they?
If you’re looking for a new cleanser, this is one that I definitely think is worth trying. It has an incredible fan base, with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 on the LUSH website and a collection of glowing reviews. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and my skin is clear and soft.
Let the Good Times Roll has about a 3 month lifespan before it expires, plenty of time to finish the 3.5 oz. jar. The instructions say to use a pea-sized amount, but I use more than that. My product started out looking like a hand-formed ball (you could actually see the hand shape, which is a little funny), but over time has settled into the jar with more of a peanut butter-like consistency because I’d been opening it up in the shower.
Let the Good Times Roll costs $12.95 for 3.5 oz. or $28.95 for 8.8 oz., a price point that I think is pretty reasonable. It’s available at LUSH stores and online.
Have you tried it? Do you love it?
