On my last walk though Bed Bath and Beyond, I passed a new display of bath bombs in a handful of different scents by a company called Beau Bain. I take frequent baths for soothing achy muscles, but bath bombs and melts seem more like a luxury item since they’ll only get me through one or, at best, two baths and carry a pretty high cost per use. I was pretty excited to see the price tag on these, though! They’re only $2.79 each, so I had to take one home to see if they could potentially replace more expensive options.
Here’s a quick shot of the Bed Bath and Beyond display. They had lavender, coconut lemongrass, spearmint eucalyptus, and oatmeal, milk and honey varieties available. I’m most attracted to oatmeal, milk and honey so that’s the one I grabbed, but I may try one or two of the others the next time I have the chance.
The labels on the bath bombs say that they’re all natural and handmade in the USA.
The ingredients on the label look pretty good, I have to say. I’d say its skin nourishing abilities were ok, but my bigger disappointment was that its fragrance was extremely subtle. I could smell it as I placed it under the hot running water, but later as I was sitting in the tub I really didn’t feel like I could smell anything at all.
The bottom line for me is that if I’m looking for cheaper options, I’d rather stick with bath solutions from Dr. Teal’s. I wrote about one of them here, and I’m currently trying another.
