I’ve heard some really nice things about Tarina Tarantino cosmetics, but didn’t actually give one of them a try until a little over a month ago when I saw some pop up in my nearby Nordstrom Rack. I really wasn’t sure where to start, but decided that I might as well try out something that could be considered one of the basics, a rose pink blush. I wanted to say a few words about it because the brand’s products are still very available in Nordstrom Rack (there are more now than there were initially when I made the purchase, actually), so you still have a shot at picking some up at a nice discount.
The Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush in Carved Rose is a lovely matte pink, a shade that the Tarina Tarantino website calls a “cool vivid pink”. I’m not afraid of a bright color, but what concerned me a little when I first tried this one on was that it does lean quite cool, which isn’t always the best look for me. I have found that it can look quite nice on my cheeks if I dust it towards the top of my cheekbones and blend well on the outer areas closest to my hairline and nose, though. I like to use a fan brush to apply it and then a larger powder brush to make sure the ends are blended.
I don’t pick up a ton of product when I swipe my finger across the blush, but a brush picks up plenty. The blush is quite pigmented but blends really well on skin, which is really nice considering how bright it can get if I’m not careful. I found that it lasts pretty well throughout the day. It fades a bit over 8 hours, but always looks even on my skin.
In the photo, I’m also wearing; Givency Photo’Perfexion Fluid Foundation in 4 Perfect Vanilla (review), DreamWorld Hermetica finishing powder in Peach Creme (review), Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil in black, Clarins Be Long mascara in black (review) and some basic lip balm (this one).
The blushes are available at Nordstrom Rack for just under $10 each, which is a really good deal. There are 5 shades in the Dollskin Cheek line, and I know I’ve seen at least 4 of them at Rack. I’ve also seen eye shadows, eye liners, mascara, glitter powder, and more. So pay Nordstrom Rack a visit if you’re interested!
