I’ve heard such great things about these Too Faced La Crème lipsticks, but it can take me a while to work up the nerve to spend over $20 on a single lip product. I decided to try two of them when I received my $10 off of $50 VIB reward code from Sephora in December. They contain white lotus flower extract and peptides to help moisturize and smooth lips, and they’re currently available in 25 different colors, 5 of which are new to the line for spring ’14.
I picked out two bear-themed colors, Honey Bear and Teddy Berry. Honey Bear is described as a toasted mauve, and Teddy Berry is described as a dusty rose. Both shades provide a really pretty shine.
I’m drawn to this line of lipsticks for two main reasons: they’re supposed to be hydrating, and they come in a bunch of really pretty colors. Truth be told, I had trouble picking just two shades … I kind of want them all. The shade range just seems so flattering and easy to wear.
My lips are the sort that are dried out by everything, and so my best hope for lipsticks is usually that they’ll at least keep the moisture level of my lips stable. I actually find these La Crèmes to be a bit hydrating! I’m very excited and relieved that they work for me. The wear time isn’t terrible, either. I can get around 3.5 hours with tea drinking before I see obvious fading. They don’t really last through eating, but they don’t claim to. They have a very flattering finish and don’t settle into lines or creep outside lips.
They have a very faint vanilla scent, but I have to get the tube right up under my nose to detect it. I really don’t notice any scent or flavor when I apply them. The slim gold tubes are classy, I think, and they open and close really smoothly, which is a nice touch.
Can you tell I’m hooked? I’ll be purchasing more of these, but I’ll have to wait for some sort of sale or VIB offer to come around again. They cost $21 each for 0.11 oz. and are available at Too Faced and Sephora.
Have you tried the La Crèmes? Do you have any favorite shades that you’d recommend?
