To follow up on my last review of Giovanni’s Ultra-Sleek shampoo and conditioner, I’ve also been trying out 3 products from the brand’s Eco Chic Body Care line. These are all cruelty-free, beautiful, and affordable products, so I’m really excited to be able to share these with you. I’ve been trying out the Cleanse Grapefruit Sky body washHydrate Grapefruit Sky body lotion, and the Cool Mint Lemonade salt scrub.

Giovanni Cleanse Grapefruit Sky body wasy ($9.95), Hydrate Grapefruit Sky body lotion ($9.95)

Cleanse Grapefruit Sky body wash … $9.95 for 10.5 oz.

First of all, I really enjoy these bottles. They’re elegant but don’t take up a lot of space because they’re so slim. I’m always space conscious!

Another lovely aspect is the scent. Giovanni has 4 different scents for their body washes and lotions: Grapefruit Sky, Cucumber Song, Lavender Vanilla Snow, and Raspberry Winter. While they all sound nice, I don’t entirely know what to expect from them – what does “sky” smell like, anyway?

To me, it smells a little bit like cake. I can definitely smell the grapefruit, but it isn’t overly tart and there’s a little vanilla mixed in. It’s delicious in a warm shower, and it’s a pretty great fit for me considering I don’t tend to like scents that are really foody, and this one doesn’t go so far as to be heavy or too sweet. It’s really nice.

It’s lauryl and laureth sulfate free, but it still has a pretty normal gel consistency that lathers just fine. I have really dry skin that doesn’t tolerate the standard sulfates and this one works perfectly for me. It’s gentle, it works, and smells great!

Ingredients: Aqua (purified water), babassuamidopropyl betaine, cocamidopropyl betaine, disodiumlauryl sulfosuccinate, decyl glucoside, polyquaternium 7, polyquatermium 10, potassium sorbate, citric acid, cocamide MEA polysorbate 20, punica granatum (pomegranate) fruit extract, *aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, *citrus aurantium dulcis (valencia orange) fruit extract, *citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel extract, *citrus grandis (grapefruit) fruit extract, *echinacea angustifolia (coneflower) extract, phenoxyethanol, natural fragrance.
*Certified Organic.

Hydrate Grapefruit Sky body lotion … $9.95 for 8.5 oz.

This lotion has the same scent as the body wash, but the level of fragrance is fairly gentle. It’s very pleasant, of course, but won’t linger around on skin for very long, so I like this kind of thing for times when I have to be in elevators, work in a cubicle, and hand out in meeting rooms with people.

This has been a nice basic to have around. It’s easy to reach for after a shower and doesn’t feel thick or greasy, it spreads over skin easily and dries quickly. It seems to really work, too. It doesn’t completely disappear on my skin but feels really light and soft, and my skin seems like it’s in consistently better shape these days.

Ingredients: Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit – Certified Organic), Echinacea Angustifolia (Coneflower), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Valencia Orange), Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel, Punica Angustifolia (Pomegrante) Extracts (Aqueous), Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Disodium Cocamphodiacetate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Vegetable Glycerin, Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Citric Acid (Corn), Sodium Hydroxymethlyglycinate, Essential Oil Fragrance

Cool Mint Lemonade salt scrub … $13.95 for 9 oz.

This was a fun surprise because it’s been a long time since I’ve tried a scrub that I enjoyed this much. I’ve been using this once or twice a week to help my skin look its best and also to help with self-tanning. This is a thick scrub that’s dense with very fine granules of salt (no big chunks), so it scrubs the skin gently and evenly. It has some good oils in there but there isn’t that much liquid, allowing it to hold on to skin well to that it doesn’t rinse right down the drain. If you tip the jar, nothing will pour out.

It has a really strong herbal mint and lemon scent. It’s not what I’d call a sweet lemonade scent, but it’s very refreshing. In the shower I find it helps clear out my sinuses and wake me up, and I really look forward to using it. This is a fantastic, affordable treat and I highly recommend it, especially if you’re feeling a little tired, a little low, or a little sick. It’ll help.
