This past spring when I ran out of night cream, I ended up taking advantage of one of The Body Shop’s many sales to purchase two products from their Nutriganics range: the Smoothing Night Cream and the Smoothing Eye Cream. I’ve never tried the Nutriganics products before but have enjoyed The Body Shop’s moisturizers in the past, and was excited to try some of the brand’s fancier products. They’re both under $30 so even though they’re more expensive than other TBS skincare, they’re definitely still within reach for me, and they’re an even better deal on sale.
The first upgrade you get for paying a little more is that these are both in nice pump bottles rather than in jars, and I think that’s pretty great. They have some bigger claims, as well – namely, they smooth skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. You get a pretty standard amount of product in each bottle, 1.69 ounces of night cream and 0.5 ounces of eye cream.
The eye cream is totally a new brand favorite for me. I’m super impressed with both it’s effect on my skin and the price point of the product. It feels really light and absorbs quickly, doesn’t mess with makeup, and definitely hydrates. I couldn’t detect any scent. This was great for my skin and it’s just a good deal. Definitely something I’d buy again in the future.
The night cream is also quite nice, but for me it’s just a little light on moisture. It’d be great with someone with normal/combination/oily skin, I think. I gravitate toward more substantial creams, and while I think this is probably The Body Shop’s best moisturizer in terms of texture and absorption into the skin, I personally think I’d lean toward repurchasing their Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream in the future. That one is a bit more basic, though consequently a bit cheaper at $22, and worked really well for me in the past. All the same, the Nutriganics cream has an amazing jasmine scent and is a total pleasure to use.
In general, these products aren’t the most natural out there but do contain a lot of botanicals. They also both include some salicylic acid, which I didn’t realize until I copied over the ingredients for this review. I think that’s why their descriptions say they help improve skin texture. There are also some really nice moisturizing ingredients like jojoba oil, olive oil, and glycerine.
