The Honest Co. first caught my attention while browsing through Target, where I remember seeing a big display dedicated to the brand’s many products, including baby, bath, body, home, and more. It wasn’t until I saw their a couple of products pop up at Costco that I first purchased, and I’ve since been trying out their Honest Sunscreen Lotion with SPF 30 and multipurpose Organic Healing Balm.
Formula X recently released some new nail strengthening polishes that give a sheer tint to nails. There are 10 shades in the Sheer Strength line including, nudes, creams, taupes, pinks, and a purple, and they’re formulated to strengthen, nourish, and hydrate nails with keratin and botanicals. I grabbed the shade called Tenacious, which is described as a sheer linen porcelain.
So, technically, I’m not really supposed to be shopping. I’m trying to take a break after traveling and moving. Still, I’ve been picking up some items here and there and have a little bundle of new stuff I can share, and including makeup, skincare, nail polish, hair care, and bath products – a little bit of everything.
I’m not normally the type to remark on the passage of time, but February went by really quickly for me. I had a major work event, flew around the US a couple of times, and then flew off to Europe for a vacation, which is where I am now! I have a handful of really great products that I finished up this month, including skincare, hand care, and a makeup brush that I’m tossing.
I’ve taken my time gathering my thoughts about resolutions for 2015, and though it’s late in the month we’re still early in the new year, with plenty of time to work on personal changes. Like last year, I was able to come up with five beauty-related goals that I’d like to pursue. These also sort of build on my goals I set forward for 2014, so I’ll quickly revisit those first.
I recently posted that I had found a handful of Urban Decay nail polishes marked down to $5 at Nordstrom Rack (different shades are found on Urban Decay’s website), and had come home with two shades, Addiction and Vice. I’ve been wearing them on my nails for the past couple of weeks, and I really like them! The two I grabbed are striking fall shades, and they apply and wear really nicely.
I just wanted to quickly note that I found a handful of Urban Decay’s nail colors marked down from $15 to $5 at Nordstrom Rack this weekend, and I picked up two shades that looked really lovely, Addiction and Vice. This was a fun deal to find, and I wanted to just take a moment to compare the deal with pricing and availability online.
As the very tail end of our travels and our deadline for returning to the US, my boyfriend and I had a special wedding to attend. We had been on the road/in the air for months and so as the date neared we had to collect a few things: clothes for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, appropriate shoes, and some cheap accessories. I also browsed Target for a cheap nail polish, and decided to try Sonia Kashuk’s nail color in Golden Ticket for a festive touch.
I have a couple of products I’ve been using that I’m not happy with, and as I discard them I also want to say a few words about why. The Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo and The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Cream are both products that I packed up to take along while traveling and reached for them frequently during the first week of being on the road.
I recently came upon the new Rio summer collection display by Revlon, which I’d been aware of but am not really drawn to, and realized that right above it was a collection by Revlon inspired by The Amazing Spider-Man 2 full of all kinds of lovely colors. The collection features 3 Super Lustrous lipglosses and 6 nail polishes, as well as some other repromoted items like Lip Butters and Highlighting Palettes.
