When I was in Japan this past winter, I specifically wanted to find some complexion products with high SPF. The year prior, I had tried a little complexion set from Naturaglacé with sample sizes in it, and I’d found that the products seemed really solid. So when I found this year that the brand had a whole new display at Tokyu Hands with an expanded product range (at least compared to what I’d previously seen) and completely new packaging design, I spent some time with the testers and purchased the Moist BB Cream with SPF 43/PA+++ (¥2800 or about $25 for 30g) and Emollient Cream Foundation with SPF 39/PA+++ (¥4800 or about $43 for 27g).
YADAH Cosmetics is a brand I hadn’t heard of until recently, but I’m excited about the couple of products I’ve tried because they’re quite nice and very affordable. And how cute is the branding on the packaging? YADAH is a Korean cosmetics and skincare brand focused on gentle, hypoallergenic, and plant-based formulations, with products available on the BB Cosmetic website. I’ve been trying their Brightening Ampoule with niacinamide and Angel BB Cream with SPF 20/PA++.
Dr.Ci:Labo Enrich-Lift skincare: Cleansing Cream, Up Lotion, Aqua-Collagen-Gel, UV & White SPF 50+, BB Perfect Cream SPF 40By Erin on February 12, 2017
When I was in Japan, one of the skincare bits I picked up was this little set from Dr.Ci:Labo that includes samples and minis of five different products. This has given me a chance to try out the Cleansing Cream EX, Up Lotion, Aqua-Collagen-Gel EX, UV & White SPF 50+, and the BB Perfect Cream SPF 40, all from the Enrich-Lift product line. This is a doctor-developed brand focused on product efficacy and simplicity, formulated for all skin types including sensitive skin, and the products exclude fragrance, coloring, mineral oil, and parabens.
I bought the Bright Fit BB Cream from one of the many Etude House stores I encountered while in Asia, and I’ve been reaching for it a lot lately. It’s the first real Korean BB cream that I’ve tried, and I can definitely understand why folks who are used to this kind of BB cream get frustrated with American versions. This one offers skin some moisture, solid medium coverage, a healthy and luminous finish, and an SPF of 30.
I visited several countries in Asia this summer and have been saving up my purchases to talk about them all together now that I’m back. Asia has some great shopping – the photo above is from Singapore’s Orchard Road, a Vegas-like strip of 27 beautiful shopping malls. I mostly bought skincare because it was my first proper opportunity to try out the Asian brands I hear about every so often on the internet, but there are a few makeup products sprinkled in the mix, as well.
