It’s been a while since I’ve talked about Lush, and it’s because it had actually been a while since I walked into a store and bought something. After paying a visit this summer, I ended up with some pretty classic stuff, all of which I’d never actually purchased before. I got a pot of the Rub Rub Rub salt scrub ($22.95 for 11.6 oz.), Celestial facial moisturizer for sensitive skin ($26.95 for 1.5 oz.), Charity Pot hand and body lotion ($7.95 for 1.7 oz.), and a Yellow Submarine bath bomb ($5.95) And, they’ve all been really great for my dryish, sensitive skin over the past few months.
Hey, I bought some things a little bit of a discount. Wanna see what I got? I took advantage of sales last week at Sephora and Kiehl’s that happened to begin over the same weekend, which I’m sure was no coincidence. I grabbed a couple of things impulsively, but more than anything I took it as a chance to stock up on the kinds of products that I run through the quickest, in the hopes that I can push off needing to make additional purchases over the next several months.
I’m said very positive things about the Danish brand Raunsborg in the past, and I’m really excited to be able to say that their products are now available in the US through the website A Bit of Denmark. The site carries a bunch of skin, body, and fragrance products from the brand, and also has a collection of travel sizes available both individually and as a complete set.
To follow up on my last review of Giovanni’s Ultra-Sleek shampoo and conditioner, I’ve also been trying out 3 products from the brand’s Eco Chic Body Care line. These are all cruelty-free, beautiful, and affordable products, so I’m really excited to be able to share these with you. I’ve been trying out the Cleanse Grapefruit Sky body wash, Hydrate Grapefruit Sky body lotion, and the Cool Mint Lemonade salt scrub.
I picked up the SheaMoisture body lotion with olive and green tea at Target when I needed something to help me cope with the changing seasons because I was such a huge fan of their raw shea butter body wash. I tend to get dry skin especially on my arms and legs, and SheaMoisture has many products formulated with an abundance of natural, hydrating ingredients.
Derma MD is a brand that’s pretty new to me, and I’ve had the opportunity to test out a number of their products in a new regimen. I’m excited to share my thoughts on all of the products and giving an overall impression on how the routine has been working for me. I wanted to take some time to touch on each of the products as an intro to the brand, and I hope it’s helpful if you’re interested in finding some new skincare or perhaps just enjoy learning about what’s out there.
Up until the summer, I had been reviewing the products I finished up on a monthly basis, but once I started traveling at the beginning of the summer I had to change my approach a little. It wasn’t practical for me to save up the empty containers and I found that I was too short on time to keep up with the monthly posts, and so instead I just kept a list and made a note when I finished something up. Now that I’ve recently come home, it’s a great time to review some of the products I used up while I was away.
I’m feeling guilty for taking a bit of a break from the blog, but I’ve been traveling and visiting with my family and generally relaxing. I’ve been using some really fantastic skin and body products lately, one of which is this rich body cream from Alba Botanica’s Natural Hawaiian line of products. There are three different versions of it – Nourishing Coconut Milk, Rejuvenating Papaya Mango, and Deep Moisturizing Kukui Nut.
Usually I write about the products I use up on a monthly basis. I’m traveling at the moment, so I thought that I’d switch to writing about my used up products every time I finish five of them. Seem reasonable? This time around it does add up to about a month of products, but over the next couple of months the routine may be a little more uneven. Anyways, I’ve finished a combination of face and body products and can say a bit about how each of them worked out.
This past summer I discovered Raunsborg when I was vacationing in Copenhagen and totally fell in love with their Skin Tonic. I loved what it did to my skin, and even included it in my list of standout beauty products of 2013 in December. After my original review, Raunsborg reached out to me and sent me a few more products to try out. Sadly, their products currently aren’t available in the US, but I’m crossing my fingers that they’re able to bring them over at some point because they have some really great things to offer. I’m excited to share my thoughts on the three products I’ve had a chance to try: their body lotion, hand cream and night cream.
