Hey, I bought some things a little bit of a discount. Wanna see what I got? I took advantage of sales last week at Sephora and Kiehl’s that happened to begin over the same weekend, which I’m sure was no coincidence. I grabbed a couple of things impulsively, but more than anything I took it as a chance to stock up on the kinds of products that I run through the quickest, in the hopes that I can push off needing to make additional purchases over the next several months.
I’m said very positive things about the Danish brand Raunsborg in the past, and I’m really excited to be able to say that their products are now available in the US through the website A Bit of Denmark. The site carries a bunch of skin, body, and fragrance products from the brand, and also has a collection of travel sizes available both individually and as a complete set.
To follow up on my last review of Giovanni’s Ultra-Sleek shampoo and conditioner, I’ve also been trying out 3 products from the brand’s Eco Chic Body Care line. These are all cruelty-free, beautiful, and affordable products, so I’m really excited to be able to share these with you. I’ve been trying out the Cleanse Grapefruit Sky body wash, Hydrate Grapefruit Sky body lotion, and the Cool Mint Lemonade salt scrub.
Throughout April, I used up a lot of skincare products that had been lingering around in my collection for a while, and there are a few additional items that aren’t pictured above. Highlights this month include the Pixi Glow Tonic, Clarins Shaping Facial Lift serum, a Nature Republic Ampoule, and a couple of treatments from Andalou Naturals.
So, technically, I’m not really supposed to be shopping. I’m trying to take a break after traveling and moving. Still, I’ve been picking up some items here and there and have a little bundle of new stuff I can share, and including makeup, skincare, nail polish, hair care, and bath products – a little bit of everything.
While in Spain and Portugal, we debated whether we had the time to also visit Morocco. It was tempting because it was so close by, but we knew we didn’t have the time to see a whole lot. We ended up hopping over and spending 3 days in Marrakech, and although we definitely are interested in seeing other parts of Morocco in the future, we ended up feeling like we had enough time to do Marrakech justice!
Happy 2015! I wanted to take a moment and talk about some of my favorite products I’ve been using over the past year. I’m starting with makeup picks and then moving on to skincare and body care, and I like the exercise of narrowing a list down to ten – it really makes me focus on the things I was most excited to experience for the first time and continue to reach for on a daily basis.
I came home with a handful of Giovanni Cosmetics products after a trip to Whole Foods one day because I had run out of a few things and found that there was a brand-wide sale going on. It was a gamble because I’ve never tried anything from the brand before, and really haven’t heard anything about them, either. I’ve been trying out the 2Chic Ultra-Volume shampoo and conditioner, the 2Chic Ultra-Sleek body wash, and the D:tox System facial cleansing towelettes.
Now that I’ve told you about my thoughts on the Alba Botanica Natural Hawaiian Body Cream, I thought I’d also talk about the other Alba product I’m using at the moment, the Natural Hawaiian Cocktail Body Wash. My body is really prone to dry skin and so I keep an eye out for body washes that don’t include normal sulfates and are meant to be used with dry or sensitive skin, and it appeared that the Creamy Piña Colada formulation would fit the bill.
Usually I write about the products I use up on a monthly basis. I’m traveling at the moment, so I thought that I’d switch to writing about my used up products every time I finish five of them. Seem reasonable? This time around it does add up to about a month of products, but over the next couple of months the routine may be a little more uneven. Anyways, I’ve finished a combination of face and body products and can say a bit about how each of them worked out.
