I don’t round up favorite products on a regular basis except for at the end of the year, so this is my chance to put some of my reviews in perspective and talk about the stuff that really stood out to me. I’m highlighting some skincare and some makeup that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and span a wide range of price points. And I have to get this up and out there before I start talking about all of the newstuff I’ve bought for myself this winter and will be trying in 2018, so let’s go!
I’ve been working on a sample of Guerlain’s Lingerie de Peau foundation recently, and it’s been fun to try it out. It’s one that I’ve heard such wonderful things about, but I wasn’t sure how well it’d work for me as I didn’t have the best experience with Tenue de Perfection (read my review here), also from Guerlain. This is a lightweight liquid foundation that Guerlain claims to provide a Bio-Fusion micro-mesh to perfect the appearance of skin. The name of the foundation literally means underwear for the skin, in fact.
A few weeks ago I was taking a stroll through my nearby Nordstrom, and a Guerlain makeup artist pulled me over by tempting me with the new Maxi Lash mascara. She dolled me up a little, but what I ended up leaving with was a very generous sample of a sweet foundation. The new Tenue de Perfection Foundation SPF 20 is advertised to be a 16-hour long wearing liquid foundation with perfectly blendable color and a velvety-smooth texture.
