It’s been a while since I’ve gone through a batch of empty products. I’ve recently been unloading my empties whenever the bag starts to overflow, which seems to translate to a seasonal basis, and summer is just a few days away. I’m also going to be moving apartments soon and so it’s an appropriate time to be going through the cabinets and cleaning things out a bit! So, here’s a look at all of the skincare, makeup, body, and hair care products I used up throughout the spring and will be discarding.
I’ve been buying some more stuff. A few basics, a few replacements of similar products I’m running out of, and a few nice-to-haves. I’ve been trying a couple of products for a couple of weeks now but most of it is brand new and I’m just starting to try out the different bits. I have some cleansing products and makeup from Sephora, lip colors from MAC, and some natural bath and body from Whole Foods.
I’ve found myself reaching for the same base makeup products nearly everyday when I’m getting ready for work, many of which are affordable, and all of which have been working really well for me. Most of them have only been mentioned in passing on the blog, but deserve a little more attention. So, here are the primer and complexion basics, as well as a mascara, that I’ve been loving recently.
So, technically, I’m not really supposed to be shopping. I’m trying to take a break after traveling and moving. Still, I’ve been picking up some items here and there and have a little bundle of new stuff I can share, and including makeup, skincare, nail polish, hair care, and bath products – a little bit of everything.
Hey, hey – it’s a tag! The Lip Product Addict Tag was started by Estee over at Essie Button, and I was tagged by the lovely Brianna of Glazed Over Beauty. If you haven’t taken a look at her blog before, do it! I absolutely love reading her thoughts, and I’m excited she thought to include me in this. This is a fun tag, so let’s take a moment to talk about some lippies.
When I was packing for our trip to the Southwest, I knew I should be prepared for some heat. However, about a week into the trip it became clear that my skin wasn’t reacting the way I had assumed it would – I’d completely underestimated the dryness of the climate. Because the makeup in my collection was either going to be carried with me on the trip or heading into storage, I had decided to bring along a handful of different foundations, which would allow me to experiment with a number of different product combinations to help me deal with the climate.
I don’t carry a lot of makeup in my purse. Just a few lip balms, and this: MAC Pressed Blot Powder. I picked this up this past spring when I could tell that my face was gradually getting a little oilier throughout the day. It’s perfect for taking on the go, because the compact will never accidentally snap open, it has a nice mirror, and although I’ve tried different ways to apply it, the little puff it comes with that fits in the compact is actually the best tool for the job.
