I love redeeming Sephora points for mascara minis when I can, because I use mascara every day. As long as the mascara ends up being decent, then the reward definitely ends up saving me money. I’ve had several different minis sitting around from recent Sephora orders including the Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume, and it reminded me that while a lot of the Sephora Collection products are easy to walk right by, many of them are really great and totally worth checking out.
In my last post I mentioned that an Integrate mascara had ended up being my favorite mascara of the three that I picked up while in Japan. That being the case, it’s only fitting that I share a few photos to show you what I mean. The box is entirely in Japanese, but based on some internet reading I believe that it’s called Magical Lash Curl with Curl Enhancing Fibers. That seems like a fitting name, anyway.
Over the past year, I did a lot of traveling, moved across the country, and got married, which sometimes got in the way of trying lots of new products. After quitting birth control last fall, I also spent much of the year struggling with new hormonal acne woes, which at times kept me from feeling super motivated when it came to certain kinds of experimentation. However, as I was going through all of the products I tried over the last year I was surprised at how easy it was to identify a bunch of standout products that made a big impact on me and became staples in my collection.
After being away for several weeks, I’m feeling very behind on sharing what products I’ve been trying out. After having been on that trip, however, I definitely have some good stuff that I took with me and have been appreciating. All but one of them are from the drugstore, and I have a little mix of skincare and makeup.
Summer’s flying by, and I’ve personally been particularly focused on skincare products to help my skin, which has been giving me some trouble. In addition to a good bundle of skincare, I also have some makeup and body products in the mix of monthly empties. I really used up a lot of products throughout July, so I’ll try to be succinct and to the point!
Earlier this spring, I went to find a new mascara and found that L’Oreal eye products were on a buy-one-get-one-50%-off sale, so I brought home a liner, too. I’ve been trying out the classic Voluminous Carbon Black mascara and Lineur Intense brush tip liquid liner for the first time. These are affordable and widely available products, and I’ve just generally been curious to give them a go.
This is the second mascara I’ve tried from Kiko, purchased in while in Europe along with the Ultra Tech mascara. This one appealed to me because the curved, fluffy wand reminded me a little of Maybelline’s The Falsies, which is a fantastic mascara. Kiko makes some really affordable products and offer an astonishing variety of mascaras, and Unforgettable is a lightweight curling formula in a fancy-feeling brushed metal tube.
While I was in Europe recently, I had the chance to visit a Kiko store for the first time. I had been searching for a new mascara at the time and was excited to see that Kiko offers an almost overwhelming number of them. They were also a flat €7 each, so they’re on the affordable side of things. I bought two, and the Ultra Tech mascara is the first one I decided to break open.
So, technically, I’m not really supposed to be shopping. I’m trying to take a break after traveling and moving. Still, I’ve been picking up some items here and there and have a little bundle of new stuff I can share, and including makeup, skincare, nail polish, hair care, and bath products – a little bit of everything.
Another month gone, so here comes another summary of the products I finished up. I mostly worked through some skincare in March, as I’ve been traveling and haven’t been reaching for a ton of different makeup products lately. I got to the bottom of a handful of nice products, so let’s chat a bit about about each one of them.
