When I was in Japan, one of the skincare bits I picked up was this little set from Dr.Ci:Labo that includes samples and minis of five different products. This has given me a chance to try out the Cleansing Cream EX, Up Lotion, Aqua-Collagen-Gel EX, UV & White SPF 50+, and the BB Perfect Cream SPF 40, all from the Enrich-Lift product line. This is a doctor-developed brand focused on product efficacy and simplicity, formulated for all skin types including sensitive skin, and the products exclude fragrance, coloring, mineral oil, and parabens.
I’ve really been exploring a lot of skincare from Kiehl’s over the past several months, evidenced by posts here and here. While I fortunately can’t say any of the products have been complete misses for me, I definitely have some favorites that I’m very excited about. I’m even at a point where I can chat about 5 of my favorite products covering 5 different product categories, so it seems like a great time to talk about the stuff I’m really enjoying.
It probably shouldn’t have taken me this long to try some Kiehl’s products, but now that I’m in New York City I’ve passed through their flagship store in the East Village at a couple of times and have started to explore product range. Their flagship store is actually their original location that dates back to 1851 (a date that’s proudly proclaimed on all of their product packaging) when it was a pharmacy, and is a really cool place to visit.
This eye cream by Supergoop! actually sat on my wish list for a couple of months before I ended up receiving it as a gift. I wanted an eye cream with SPF, but I also knew that having it meant that I needed to put down money to have not just one but two eye creams in my collection, which can seem like a jump for someone on a budget. I felt it was a hole in my skincare routine, though, and since early this spring I’ve been using the Supergoop! Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream with SPF 37.
I’ve been having a lot of days where I don’t feel the need to wear a full face of makeup and have been figuring out how minimal to go. I can easily get sucked into the 30+ minute routine because once I add some foundation coverage, then I need to add bronzer to add dimension back to my face, and then I need blush to liven up my cheeks, and then I need brows and lashes in order to balance it out, and … it starts to get out of hand really quickly. However, on the days when I really want to get out the door quickly and look natural, here are the 3 products I reach for.
The Honest Co. first caught my attention while browsing through Target, where I remember seeing a big display dedicated to the brand’s many products, including baby, bath, body, home, and more. It wasn’t until I saw their a couple of products pop up at Costco that I first purchased, and I’ve since been trying out their Honest Sunscreen Lotion with SPF 30 and multipurpose Organic Healing Balm.
Melaleuca Sei Bella skincare: Refining Facial Cleanser, Clarifying Toner, and Daytime Delivery LotionBy Erin on May 14, 2015
Melaleuca is a company whose products I haven’t really mentioned on the blog before. I’m not a current member, but I’m also not a stranger – I was a member years ago, and my mother has been involved for what’s probably going on 10 years now. I received a handful of their skincare products as a Christmas gift, and I was excited give them a try for the first time. In this post, I’ll be chatting about three of their ‘necessities‘ that are targeted for normal-to-oily skin: the Refining Facial Cleanser, Clarifying Facial Toner, and Daytime Delivery Lotion with SPF 15.
I bought the Bright Fit BB Cream from one of the many Etude House stores I encountered while in Asia, and I’ve been reaching for it a lot lately. It’s the first real Korean BB cream that I’ve tried, and I can definitely understand why folks who are used to this kind of BB cream get frustrated with American versions. This one offers skin some moisture, solid medium coverage, a healthy and luminous finish, and an SPF of 30.
Derma MD is a brand that’s pretty new to me, and I’ve had the opportunity to test out a number of their products in a new regimen. I’m excited to share my thoughts on all of the products and giving an overall impression on how the routine has been working for me. I wanted to take some time to touch on each of the products as an intro to the brand, and I hope it’s helpful if you’re interested in finding some new skincare or perhaps just enjoy learning about what’s out there.
This summer, I’ve been using the crap out of the Andalou Naturals Color + Correct moisturizer with SPF 30. This CC moisturizer was introduced along with their relatively new 1000 Roses line of products, which is targeted for sensitive skin. I was pretty excited when I initially saw the 1000 Roses line on store shelves for the first time early in the summer, since I’m a fan of Andalou Naturals in general and I’ve been trying to reach for more natural and gentle products as my skin has become a little more sensitive than it used to be.
