I’ve had a small box of makeup set aside for a de-potting project, and I finally got around to buying a few small tools to help me with the job. It’s my first time breaking open my stuff, but I had a few products that I was eager to put in magnetic palettes in order to help me use the shades inside more often.
I went to visit my family on the east coast for Christmas, and had a lot of goodies waiting for me. My boyfriend and I are in the middle of a move and don’t have a permanent address at the moment, so to play it safe I had some purchases sent to my parents’ house for me to pick up when I was in town. My parents also gave me a bunch of really wonderful beauty-related gifts, so I’m excited to go through everything and share some photos.
I recently posted that I had found a handful of Urban Decay nail polishes marked down to $5 at Nordstrom Rack (different shades are found on Urban Decay’s website), and had come home with two shades, Addiction and Vice. I’ve been wearing them on my nails for the past couple of weeks, and I really like them! The two I grabbed are striking fall shades, and they apply and wear really nicely.
I just wanted to quickly note that I found a handful of Urban Decay’s nail colors marked down from $15 to $5 at Nordstrom Rack this weekend, and I picked up two shades that looked really lovely, Addiction and Vice. This was a fun deal to find, and I wanted to just take a moment to compare the deal with pricing and availability online.
I hope you’re having a relaxing Sunday! I have something a little different that I’m excited to share with you today. I was recently contacted by a site called Loverly who asked me come up with makeup looks to pair with dresses that they feature on their wedding planning site. I played around with the website for a bit and found it’s really enjoyable to interact with, and so I had some fun picking out a few dresses and working on color palettes and product picks to go along with them.
For 2014 I’ve started keeping track of the products I use up each month, and throughout April I finished a mix of skincare, cosmetics, and hair care. We’ve moved and are on the road traveling for a bit, so I no longer have my little marble table to photograph products on – this time the view comes from the floor of my completely empty apartment!
Last week I received my 15% off Sephora and 20% Ulta cards on the same day, so I knew I’d be doing a little shopping over the weekend. After being sick for a week, I was ready to get out a little and hit both stores plus Target. I just wanted to take a moment and show you what I came home with!
The Vice 2 is definitely one of my favorite palettes from my collection, but I haven’t talked about it on the blog yet because I received it for Christmas and it’s limited availability came to a close shortly after that. So, you unfortunately can no longer find it at Urban Decay and Sephora, but this is really my kind of palette and I wanted to take a moment and chat about some of the looks these shadows can create.
Lots of things are put on sale after the holidays, but I found a few small surprises over the past few days that I’m pretty happy about. I wanted to share the deals I took advantage in case you’d be interested in checking any of these products out! I shouldn’t be spending a lot of money post-holidays, but with these finds I didn’t have to.
