One of my resolutions for the new year was to try more indie cosmetics, and Fyrinnae is certainly one of the most famous indie brands. I’ve been browsing their website for a while now and tried to make an order over a few weeks, but after their holiday rush their website’s been up and down, closing periodically or with certain products becoming temporarily unavailable. However, I received my first order in the mail today and have some photos and swatches of all the products, including eye shadows, Lip Lustres and blush!
I do want to say that once I was able to finally place the order I wanted, the process from then on was really fabulous. It shipped much quicker than the possible queue time quoted on their homepage, the order itself was wonderfully packed and their product packaging seems good. So bearing with their website is definitely the worst of it (even as I write this the website’s having issues).
I definitely had my eye on a few products in particular, but for others I felt like I was choosing blindly. One must-have I’ve heard a lot about is their Pixi Epoxy adhesive for glitter and shimmer shadows.

Another product that I had my eye on was their blush in Nordic Angel from their recent winter collection. I went for the full size.

I’ve definitely heard great things about their eye shadows and Lip Lustres, but they offer a lot of different shades for both products and it was difficult for me to narrow down a selection.

These are all mini jars, which cost $2.25. Full size jars cost $6.25.

I’ve swatched each color twice … the left swatch is on un-primed skin, and the right swatch is over some Pixi Epoxy. These shadows aren’t necessarily the kind that are in dire need of a glitter adhesive, but I just thought I’d experiment with it a little bit. It is my first time using it, after all!

Monarch Butterfly, Sloth Snuggles and Feisty Fennec Fox are all shades from their Endangered collection from a previous year. I guess that collection just sort of spoke to me! Boot Season is from their most recent winter collection. Lucky Charmed was a free sample (yay!) and I can definitely see why they’d give samples of that one … it’s so incredibly brilliant and opaque.

I think it’s pretty great that they offer their Lip Lustres in mini trial sizes, so I took advantage and grabbed three of them to try out. The trial sizes cost $2, while the full sizes cost $7. I found it difficult to pick out these shades based on the photos on the website, but I think my choices are looking pretty good!

Winter Romance is a shade from their recent winter collection, and I happened to notice that it looked pretty great alongside the Nordic Angel blush. Dragon’s Blood and Winter Romance are similar colors, but Dragon’s Blood leans a bit toward the purple end of things while Winter Romance is a warmer brick shade. Meloncholy is, well, an orangey coral-melon shade. I enjoy the name of that one.

Above, I’m also wearing: NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Finland (review), NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder, Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural, Maybelline Brow Pencil in Blonde, and Maybelline Illegal Length mascara in Very Black (review).
I’ve only been playing around with the Lip Lustres since this afternoon, but so far I’ll say that I really like the texture. They’re super smooth, not-too-wet liquid lipsticks that can be blotted to be more of a stain, and the color of these red shades lasts really well (haven’t tried Meloncholy yet).
Looking forward to spending more time with these products!
Do you have any Fyrinnae favorites?
That’s quite the pigmentation! I have been curious about this brand since I’ve heard so many rave reviews for their pigments! I need to make a mental note and actually get these at some point!

When it comes to pigmentation, they don’t mess around! When you’ve had a chance to order, I would love to see what shades you pick out and how you like them! There are certainly a lot of options.
I really want to get familiar with more indie brands too! Great haul! I thought Lucky Charmed and the lip products looked STUNNING!

Thanks Miss Louise! Lucky Charmed is a knockout, and I haven’t used anything quite like the Lip Lustres before. If you try them out, let me know how you like them!
