Last week I received my 15% off Sephora and 20% Ulta cards on the same day, so I knew I’d be doing a little shopping over the weekend. After being sick for a week, I was ready to get out a little and hit both stores plus Target. I just wanted to take a moment and show you what I came home with!
At Sephora I tried to stay focused on just a couple of things that I had in mind. First, I’d been interested in trying out a new lash curler. I thought I might like the limited edition Je T’aime IZAK curler from Sephora Collection, which is the limited edition curler they’re offering at the moment, but when I saw it in person I didn’t think it was very attractive. I thought I’d try this Tweezerman variety, which was available in the pretty rose gold finish. In my eyes, lash curlers are sort of a crapshoot because most of the success hinges on how well they match your personal eye shape. I’ve been using a Sonia Kashuk curler, which I know is a hit for some people, but it’s not curved enough for my eyes.
Thankfully, the Tweezerman curler seems to be fitting my eye a whole lot better. I wanted to try a lash curler from Sephora since it can be so hard to tell what you can expect from a pair and Sephora’s return policy is so good. A nice thing about this curler is that it comes with three refill pads in a little plastic tube. I also thought I’d take a look at some of the Urban Decay eyeshadows. I have one of the customizable palettes and a few other loose shadows, and I was interested in having a couple of basics on hand.
I grabbed Buck, a matte brown, and Zephyr, a shimmery cream color. I don’t often buy eyeshadow singles, but I like my little customizable UD palette and enjoy getting to cherry pick the shades.
At Ulta, I decided to try the Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Lovelight, L’Oreal Visible Lift CC Eye Concealer, and the Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation. To some degree, the shade selection of all three products felt like a gamble, but we’ll see how it goes!
The lipstick in Lovelight is a really pretty shade, though it is somewhat sheer. I’ve found it still applies really nicely and evenly, and I can wear it on both my naked lips and over a little bit of lip concealer (I currently use MAC’s Lip Erase). This is my first shade from this line of lipsticks and I’m looking forward to wearing it more!
As a little bonus, I just have a few small drugstore items. At Target, I grabbed two dry shampoos from Dove and Herbal Essences. I’ve heard about these but haven’t tried them before, and I’m running out of dry shampoo at the moment. At another local drugstore, I grabbed some Simple makeup removing towelettes because they were on sale. I like these but it’s been a while since I’ve used them.
That’s about it! I tried to keep it simple. 15-20% off is good but not mind-blowing and I try to not go too crazy. Did you take advantage of the sales? Did you pick up anything fun?
