Just for fun

Greetings from India!

I sort of stopped posting on the blog without notice, so I just wanted to stop in and say a bit about where I’ve been. I’m in the middle of a vacation to northern India and miscalculated my ability to continue posting while away. The challenges have been both a shortage of free time as well as frequent lack of internet access. We’re having tons of fun, though! Here are just a few photos from the trip so far.

Our trip began with a tour of a number of cities in the state of Rajasthan. The area is rich in forts and palaces, and my favorite of the bunch is probably Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, which is stunningly decorated and has a gorgeous view of the Blue City.

Throughout Rajasthan, we also had the opportunity to meet a number of craftspeople. Below, a durry weaver (a durry is a type of Indian rug) shows me his process. He let me weave one row of the rug he was working on, though he promptly had to redo my work, ha.

Here’s a shot of one of the beautiful Jain temples we’ve visited, also in Rajasthan.

And, for the crowning jewel: while exploring Chittorgarh Fort, the largest fort in India, we were roped into this insane photo op that involves piling on costume clothing in traditional Rajasthani style and sitting on white horses. We honestly didn’t understand what we were getting into, but ended up with some pretty funny photos. They just kept telling us what to do and things just got weirder and weirder. Anyways, I believe I’m supposed to be a queen celebrating some sort of victory.

Hope you’re having a good summer! I’m still jotting down products I’m working through for future empties posts, and my makeup is definitely getting tested by the intense heat and humidity that we’re experiencing here. It will take me a little time to get back to posting, but I’ll keep in touch.

  1. Looks like you are having a wonderful time! I think the temples are the best part of traveling through Southeast Asia. I found your blog while googling for reviews on Dreamworld foundations, but ended up reading a bunch of your older posts as well 🙂

It’s nice to see people enjoying their real lives too outside of blogging, so I hope the rest of your trip turns out fantastic. Safe and happy travels!

    1. Thank you, Belle! The temples are so beautiful, and I’m doing my best to learn what I can about them. Thanks for stopping by and spending some time here! Hope you’re having a wonderful summer.
