I love reaching for bright colors, but I also generally try to figure out simple ways to use them. A more involved routine will allow me to create richer looks, but simple tricks help me incorporate colors into my look more often and with less fuss. I’ve been meaning to use Concrete Minerals’ Juvenile, a cool vibrant yellow, now that summer’s in full swing and I’ve realized that my sample of Kinky makes a fun pairing with it.

Products used on the eyes:

– Maybelline Color Tattoo in Beige-ing Beauty , a pale nude base to help Juvenile appear more vibrant on the eyes (this was a limited edition shade but there are other comparable versions; you can also use a pure white base)

Concrete Minerals Juvenile all over the eyelid, as well as lightly on the inner half of the lower lash line

Concrete Minerals Kinky on the upper lash line, focused on the outer ends and lightly diffused, as well as on the outer 1/4 of the lower lash line

The Body Shop Honey Bronze bronzing powder in Medium Matte contouring the eye socket

L’Oreal Infallible in Iced Latte, a shimmery pale nude shadow, on the inner 1/4 of the lower lash line

Rimmel Exaggerate nude eyeliner on the lower waterline

Too Faced 3 Way lash liner for tight-lining the upper lashes

Maybelline The Falsies mascara on the upper and lower lashes

Pretty simple, right?

Here’s what those two Concrete shadows look on their own:

They both have a little shimmer and sparkle in them, but nothing over the top. They’re easy to work with and are very long-lasting. Concrete Minerals eyeshadows are among my favorites because of how long they wear without creasing … my eyes tend to eat eyeshadow. I’ll be sure to show a look using more of Kinky in the future. I’ve used it all over my lids before and think it’s spectacular.

What I used on the rest of my face:

Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation in 101 Classic Ivory

L’Oreal Visible Lift CC Eye concealer in Light

– A little NARS Translucent Crystal loose setting powder in the center of my face and DreamWorld Hermetica Moon Glo on the outer areas of my face

The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder in Medium Matte, a natural matte bronzer

Shiro Cosmetics blush in 1-Up, a natural translucent pink with a little luminosity

NYX brow pencil in Medium Brown and the powder from the Elf brow kit in Light

– Some plain lip balm

Again, easy stuff. Do you have any favorite bright colors for the season? Let me know if you have any tricks for quickly adding some color to your look! I’m always on the lookout for quick tips.
