I have a pretty good track record with Andalou Naturals products, and their (somewhat) new 1000 Roses line is something I’ve been pretty curious about. Andalou’s products are affordable, natural, and cruelty-free, and the 1000 Roses product line is formulated for those with dry and sensitive skin, which describes my skin more and more these days. After placing a Vitacost order, I’ve been able to try four products from the line over the past few months. I’ll talk through my experiences with the 1000 Roses Floral Toner, Absolute Serum, Eye Revive Contour Gel, and Heavenly Night Cream.

This toner was the first 1000 Roses product I’d tried, and so this particular bottle was a repurchase for me. I’ve already featured it on one of my years’ best posts, so it’s no secret I’m a fan. This is an affordable, lightweight, gentle, and generally very pleasant toner packaged in a spray bottle, and it’s one I’d feel comfortable recommending to just about anyone. The top ingredients include aloe, rose water, vitamin B5, and vitamin E, with most of the other ingredients including fruit stem cells and other plant extracts, so it’s soothing to the skin and lightly hydrating. I’ve used it both on its own as well as a second-step toner after a treatment (e.g. salicylic acid or AHA) toner, and I think it’s great either way. It smells like fresh roses and the spritzer on the bottle gives a nice, fine mist. I’ve tried all 4 of Andalou’s toners and this one is my favorite one they make.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Juice*, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Distillate*, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Lauric Acid, Fruit Stem Cells (Alpine Rose, Malus Domestsica, Solar Vitis) and BioActive 8 Berry Complex*, Soothing Complex: [Hyaluronic Acid, Magnolia Officinalis Bark, Phoenix Dactylifera (Date) Leaf Cell and Boswellia Serrata (Boswellin) Extracts], Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract*, Hibiscus Sabdariffa and Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Extracts*^, Phenethyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) and Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oils*, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Oil

Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Absolute Serum … $24.95

I’ve tried a couple of Andalou’s serums before, and this one’s kind of interesting in that it’s an extremely thin, watery consistency. It comes in a little glass pump bottle, and mine didn’t actually come with a cap (but I think that may be just my bottle? It doesn’t matter, I still traveled with it just fine). Serums often target specific skin concerns, but this one seems a bit more general: Alpine Rose Stem Cells, delivers deep cellular support to soothe, nourish, and transform sensitive skin. Pomegranate tones and tightens as moisture-binding humectants revive skin’s hydro lipid barrier for a naturally flawless complexion. Of all the products I’m covering in this post, this is the one I’m least enthusiastic about. I haven’t had a bad experience with it, but it’s extremely lightweight and I can’t say with certainty that it’s doing anything for my skin. As an alternative, I personally really enjoyed Andalou’s Fruit Stem Cell Revitalize Serum from their Age Defying line.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Juice*, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Distillate*, Biosaccharide Gum, Cyamopsis Tetragonolobus (Guar) Gum*, Olive Squalane, Lecithin, Bisabolol, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) and Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Oils*, Fruit Stem Cells (Alpine Rose, Malus Domestsica, Solar Vitis) and Bioactive 8 Berry Complex*, Soothing Complex: [Hyaluronic Acid, Magnolia Officinalis Bark, Phoenix Dactylifera (Date) Leaf Cell and Boswellia Serrata (Boswellin) Extracts], Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) and Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos) Extracts*^, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenethyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) and Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oils*, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Oil

Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Eye Revive Contour Gel … $19.95

So, back when I was placing my Vitacost order, this eye gel was my little “extra” – I was pretty sure it wasn’t going to be anything groundbreaking but I just wanted to try it anyway. It’s a clear gel that comes in a squeeze tube with a plastic rollerball applicator. The skin around my eyes is definitely prone to dryness but I don’t always wear heavier creams there, as it can mess with makeup longevity. I was really happy to find that this gel is really nice! It’s not a heavy duty product, but it definitely adds a little extra hydration without any oil or heavy texture. I could tell a difference in the smoothness and bounce in my skin after I started using this, and I’d repurchase it in the future. I’ve also previously tried Andalou’s Luminous Eye Serum from their vitamin C product line (mentioned here), and while I enjoyed that one as well I think I prefer this 1000 Roses version.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Juice*, Vegetable Glycerin, Laminaria Digitata (Kelp) Extract, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Juice*, Fruit Stem Cells (Alpine Rose, Malus Domestsica, Solar Vitis) and BioActive 8 Berry Complex*, Soothing Complex: [Hyaluronic Acid, Magnolia Officinalis Bark, Phoenix Dactylifera (Date) Leaf Cell and Boswellia Serrata (Boswellin) Extracts], Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Allantoin, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Distillate*, Mica, Glycine Soja (Soy) Protein, Sodium PCA, Grapeseed Polyphenols, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Rosa Canina (Rosehip) and Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extracts*, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) and Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos) Extracts*^, Phenethyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Heavenly Night Cream … $24.95

My skin has been getting increasingly drier over the past few months, and so when I ran out of moisturizer a while back I decided to try this 1000 Roses night cream (they also offer a day cream, which also costs $24.95). I ended up flying through this using it twice a day and still needed to layer an oily balm on top at night, so in the future I’ll perhaps try Andalou’s moisturizers from their Age Defying line as I expect they’re even heavier than this one. I think that if you have normal-ish or combination skin, this cream will likely be quite balanced for you. It has a nice texture, soothing formulation, and really feels good on the skin. For truly dry skin, though, I don’t think this does the job. It’s a shame, though, because I love the light, fresh scent of roses in this one.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Juice*, Glyceryl Stearate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil*, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Cetearyl Alcohol, Fruit Stem Cells (Alpine Rose, Malus Domestsica, Solar Vitis) and BioActive 8 Berry Complex*, Soothing Complex: [Hyaluronic Acid, Magnolia Officinalis Bark, Phoenix Dactylifera (Date) Leaf Cell and Boswellia Serrata (Boswellin) Extracts], Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Juice*, Stearic Acid, Glycine Soja (Soy) Protein, Biosaccharide Gum, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*^, Bisabolol, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) and Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Oils*, Lecithin, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Rosa Damascena (Rose) Distillate*, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Allantoin, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) and Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos) Extracts*^, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenethyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) and Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oils*, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Oil

One more 1000 Roses product I’ve tried, enjoyed, and wrote about in a previous post is the Color + Correct SPF 30, which is a very lightly tinted moisturizer. You can check out that in-depth review here.

Have you tried any of these, or do you have any favorites from Andalou Naturals or the 1000 Roses line? There are still a handful of their products I’m looking forward to trying and would love to hear about your experiences!
